“I made it to America” – Jack Georges’ American Dream

The American Dream was born July 4th, 1776 with the Declaration of Independence.  Since then, it has been in the hearts and minds of millions of Americans and people around the world.  When recalling his escape from a civil war on a small boat, alone at the age of 18, Jack Georges proudly confides, “I was one of those lucky ones... I made it to America.”  Arriving here in 1976, he worked hard to make ends meet and was motivated by the spirit of the American dream.  With his back against the wall and little money, he was driven to make his American Dream come true and started his company in the midst of the economic crash of 1987.  Watch this short video interview to get a sense of how the company was built and why, when everyone in the industry abandoned the U.S., Jack Georges was committed to maintaining his factory and headquarters here.  Have a wonderful 4th of July and please, live your American Dream!

After owning at least 8 handbags and a wallet that I had for years, that I sent it back for stitching and you replaced it, and seeing the history, I feel honoured that I own pieces from you. You are so humble and loyalty reflects in your story.
I hope you continue to be a success and I hope our paths cross one day. I am a woman with ideas and you are a man designing for us (laugh). While I love your bags, we are never satisfied and I am always saying I wish I could add this or change that. Nothing but the best for you and your employees and thank you for Made in America.
